The images from your wedding are presented in what is known as a 'Contemporary' slip in album. Which means the images are held in place underneath an aperture in the page. This allows for the images to be presented in varied ways. This type of album gives greater protection to the prints, because the spine of the book is nowhere near the printed surface, in addition the prints are separated by a small air gap which helps stop the prints touching each other.
The contemporary albums I use are supplied by 'Mario Acerboni' in Italy and 'GF Smith' based in England. If you wish to see what is available from either supplier please contact me to obtain a manufacturers PDF or visit the manufacturers websites.
This package includes all day photography, image editing, page layout, album and a DVD of the edited HQ JPEG images. If you would prefer a USB storage device (easily misplaced or lost) rather than the DVD, this can be arranged, but may incur a small additional charge.
At a typical summer wedding (all day coverage) with good weather I can take around 600 to 700 images, making sure I capture the whole story and emotions of the day. I will remove images where people are looking the wrong way, have eyes closed, pulling faces (it happens!) etc.
The remaining images will be edited with "Adobe Photoshop", which results in a choice of images from 150 to 240 edited images.
Above is an image which shows how the contemporary albums present the constructed digital prints.
These albums allow freedom of design and quality of presentation. The 'A4' page layouts reflect contemporary magazine or the story board style, giving a much less formal presentation when compared with the traditional wedding album that used card overlays (which even to this day are available). The album layout can be created to your own particular wishes. All images are produced photographically, this allows the mixing of both colour, monochrome (B&W) or tinted images at no additional cost.
Before the album pages are constructed low res copyrighted images are sent via e-mall to the Bride & Groom so they can decide which images they do NOT want including in the album. The remaining images are then used to create the pages of the album. The only thing which limits the number of images used, is of course, the number of pages in the album.
The page layouts are created by the photographer, again small low res copyrighted images for the album page sequence will be sent via e-mail for your approval, before the full size images are sent to the photographic printers. If you wish to change a small number of images in the layouts, this will be carried out to your instructions. However, if you wish to alter more than 4 pages this will incur an additional charge at £30 per page.
Price start from £900 for a 10 page album.
Each page of an album holds an image on each side, therefore:
10 page album holds: 20 x 'A4' images (Mario Acerboni Only)
12 page album holds: 24 x 'A4' images (GF Smith Only)
15 page album holds: 30 x 'A4' images
18 page album holds: 36 x 'A4' images (GF Smith Only)
20 page album holds: 40 x 'A4' images
When booking my services a pre-wedding meeting can be arranged in the comfort of your own home to discuss the photographic coverage you require and also give you the opportunity to look at actual printed examples of my work. To commission me for the date of your wedding a booking fee of £100 is required, which is part of the total cost of the package.
A further deposit will be required and is due for payment eight weeks before the wedding day. This additional payment will bring the total paid to 50% of the value of the package you have chosen. The remaining 50% of the fee is to be paid on delivery of the album.
If for any reason you cancel my services not later than 4 weeks before the wedding, the balance of the 50% will be returned, but I will retain the booking fee of £100. If you cancel within 4 weeks of the wedding date the 50% deposit is non-refundable!
